| Fleet Forum Direction Magazine
The Official Fleet Forum Journal for the Aid & Development Community |
Fleet Forum Direction is a publication produced on behalf of the Fleet Forum, a joint initiative of the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), the World Food Programme (WFP) and World Vision International, that works with over 40 leading NGOs, United Nations agencies, donor organisations and other stakeholders in humanitarian operations.
These organisations operate a combined global fleet in excess of 70,000 vehicles, with an annual operating and procurement budget of over $1 billion. With key issues at stake such as procurement reform, efficiency, capacity building, humanitarian responsiveness, road safety, benchmarking and clean fleets now is the ideal time to ensure that key decision makers have access to the most up-to-date information. |

Fleet Forum Direction magazine has been developed to provide three ways for the Fleet Forum to achieve its vision of catalysing the professionalisation of humanitarian fleet operations, increasing road safety and security and improving the environmental impact of fleets: |
To highlight the challenges faced by humanitarian fleets, and the overall significance of vehicles to the delivery of aid & relief |
To provide a space in which aid & development organisations can share their lessons learned and discuss challenges in a collaborative environment |
To create a dialogue between the humanitarian and private sectors where best practices can be drawn upon to facilitate humanitarian action |
Editorial
Over forthcoming editions, “Direction” will tackle key issues facing humanitarian transport, with contributions from respected industry experts. At the same time Direction will provide opportunities for the private sector to promote its strengths to the aid and development community.
Issues to be tackled include Efficient & Effective Humanitarian Action, Increased Road Safety and Security and Improved Environmental Impact, while a special end-of-year-review edition will focus on trends and issues of humanitarian transport both now and on the horizon. |

Distribution
Fleet Forum Direction is targetted in its distribution to officials within donors, NGOs and UN agencies, all of whom have a responsibility for fleets, vehicles, logistics, aid and emergency response. This audience includes key humanitarian decision makers, procurement officials, journalists and in-country aid workers.
The publication will be made available at key annual events such as the Fleet Forum Conference, the Humanitarian Development Summit, Aid & Trade and DIHAD. An additional print-run will be sent by name each quarter to individuals such as those referenced above. |
