The Humanitarian Development Program is pleased to announce that it has entered into a strategic partnership with the Global VSAT Forum (GVF), a network that includes over 200 members from the global satellite industry that will be hosting a special afternoon seminar at the forthcoming Humanitarian Development Summit in Nairobi on 17-19 October 2007. |
The GVF will be hosting a special workshop session on the afternoon of Day Two of the summit (Thursday 18 October), which will feature a number of expert speakers allocated to discuss various issues relevant to satellite and communication technology throughout the developing world.
Founded in 1997, the GVF is the single and unified voice of the global satellite industry, bringing together organisations engaged in the delivery of advanced broadband and narrowband satellite services to consumers and commercial and government enterprises worldwide. |
|
 |
Headquartered in London, the non-profit organisation draws on a membership from every major world region and every sector of the satellite industry, including fixed and mobile satellite operators, satellite network operators, teleports, satellite earth station manufacturers, system integrators, value added and enhanced service providers, telecom carriers, consultants, law firms and users. |
GVF will also be exhibiting at the summit, where it will be showcasing various projects, programmes and services from its allocated booth and holding consultations with delegates over the course of the three days.
The summit will prove extremely valuable to all companies involved in the satellite and communications sector, also featuring the participation of the leading UN officials, donor agencies and NGOs, many of which have requirements for satellite and communication technology across the various aid and development market sectors. |
