Kingsley Moghalu, a Nigerian national, is Head of Global Partnerships at The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria in Geneva, Switzerland. Dr Moghalu has mobilized political support and financial resources for the Global Fund by building strategic partnerships with governments, civil society, private sector and other stakeholders; managed The Global Fund’s partnerships with innovative sources of international financing for development; and represented the Fund at high-level international forums. At the invitation of the UN Secretary-General, Dr Moghalu served from January to July 2006, as a member of the high-level Redesign Panel on the United Nations Internal Justice System, a key component of UN management reform.
Dr Moghalu joined the UN in 1992; he has served in management, legal affairs, external relations and political affairs positions in New York, Cambodia, Croatia, Tanzania and Switzerland. Prior to his career in the UN Dr Moghalu was a corporate lawyer, journalist and academic researcher. Dr Moghalu holds a PhD in International Relations from the London School of Economics, a master’s degree from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy and the LL.B degree from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.
