Patricia Mugambi

GBC appointed Patricia Mugambi as Vice President, Regional Director, GBC East Africa in anticipation of the March 2006 launch of a new regional initiative in East and Central Africa. Mugambi is based in Nairobi, Kenya where she facilitates partnerships with national business coalitions, supports multinational and local companies, and further solidifies GBC’s African field operations. Patricia Mugambi joined GBC in 2001 as Director of Corporate Relations; she led the Coalition’s rapid growth, enabling it to secure its current 206 members.

Prior to joining GBC, Mugambi held several positions in both the private and public sectors. She spent four years in the corporate law division of Simpson, Thacher & Bartlett, one of the largest international law firms in the United States. Mugambi also held positions at the international advocacy organization WEDO (Women's Environment Development Organization) and at the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), where she helped trace young children who had been displaced from war-torn Sudan and Somalia. Mugambi holds a B.A. in International Relations/Political Science from the College of Wooster, Ohio and a Masters degree in Economics from New York University.
