Steen Stottrup is a Supply chain and business executive with many years of broad international experience in all areas of Procurement and Supply management. He joined the Global Fund in April 2005. Initially he concentrated on developing and implementing a quality assurance/control system for procurement of pharmaceuticals as required by The Global Fund Board in April 2005.
Since the end of 2006 he has been acting Head of Pharmaceutical Procurement and in this role he has been involved in several innovative health financing initiatives such as the UNITAID cooperation and the Affordable Medicines Facility for Malaria (AMF-m). During the same period he has been instrumental in the development and implementation of the highly strategic initiative Voluntary Pooled Procurement of pharmaceuticals and other health products.
Steen has a background in the private sector where he has held numerous executive positions with leading blue chip companies and consultancies. During the last 10 years Steen Stottrup has frequently been speaking at international conferences and company specific seminars all over the world.
