Angola: FAS spends over $200,000 on school's construction (31/03/08)

 

About $267,434 were spent by the Social Aid Fund (FAS) in northern Malanje province, on the construction of a primary school in Lombe commune (Cacuso district).

 
 
The six-classroom school, with a capacity for 480 students in two period (morning and afternoon), has offices, teachers` room, and other divisions.

To last 12 months, the works of the school that was inaugurated last Friday by the acting provincial governor, Durbalino de Carvalho, were under the responsibility of "Rocha & Machado" firm.

At the occasion, Durbalino de Carvalho urged the population to preserve the new school.

The regional director of the World Bank, Michael Boxter attended the education facility`s inauguration ceremony.
